There may come a time when you struggle to sleep, you can do the work to find the best wisdom/advice to help deal with this. But here is some poetry to keep your spirits up in those moments.

You may not be able get the sweet deep sleep of your childhood
But you can chose to give up on this
Accept you never really had complete control as a kid
Remember the nights you were up scared of monsters
Now the monsters are actually real, being poor, losing friends, betraying your heart

You are now old enough to say ‘oh well’
‘I did my GCSEs with little sleep and it wasn’t an issue’
‘I’ve done it this many days, I know I can do at least 1 more’
‘Tomorrow I will jiggle my life around and hopefully something comes lose’
‘This might not be so bad if I was awake tending a crying child, just now its me/my inner child that’s crying, I could probably do 2 or 3 more days if it was my own child’

Lie there, feel the impractical dance of sensations in your body which have been going on since the day you were conceived, it’s okay
Get that utterly sweet 10% insomniatic sleep where you’re half in or half out, when you’re desperate those moments are dusts from heaven
Remember that in your genes you have the wrath and fury of people/apes who have survived. You can direct that towards whatever monsters are keeping you up tonight.
Fucking metaphorically pillage and murder that abstract bitch Monster until its fucking Dust bro, Dust! (ITS LEGAL IF ITS METAPHORICAL!!!!! no one can arrest you for metaphorically destroying an abstract problem! There wont be any evidence - its abstract!)
Violently attack it like you’re a sick, metaphorical !ABSTRACT! sociopath (ONLY abstract! not real! dont make it real, just symbolic :) ) Its fun

And when the war is over :) you won’t even want to sleep.

SSssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh — Go get some
